Office of the General Counsel University of Massachusetts 333 South Street, 4th Floor Shrewsbury, MA 01 545 Dear Attorney Barton: I have received the petition of Mason Woolley appealing the nonresponse of the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMASS) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, 5 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Mr. Woolley requested three categories of records including, "a copy of the rules and procedures which govern a hearing for bias and a hearing for plagrism," "list of individuals who are on each hearing board for the 201 8 fall semester," and "a list of any intra-office correspondence regarding myself 'mason woolley' of the academic honesty board." Having received no response, Mr. Woolley petitioned this office. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of the Public Records Division staff, this office was notified that the UMASS has sent the request to their legal counsel where they are actively working on the request and intend to provide Mr. Woolley's with a response. UMASS also indicated they have responded to other public records requests made by Mr. Woolley and some have come back as undeliverable. Accordingly, UMASS is ordered to provide Mr. Woolley with a response to his request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (1 0) business days.
