The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor ofR ecords October 31, 2018 SPRlS/1535 Christopher Coakley Boston Public Works 1 City Hall Square, Room 714 Boston MA, 02201-2024 Dear Christopher Coakley: I have received the petition of Attorney Edwyn D. Macelus appealing the nonresponse of the City of Boston Public Works Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 1O A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1 ). Specifically, Attorney Macelus requested, "any and all records for sidewalk deposits paid to the City of Boston Department of Public Works from the period beginning July 1, 2013 to present." Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that Attorney Shawn Williams, the City of Boston Records Access Officer, informed the requestor that he is working with the Department to determine whether responsive records exist. It is my understanding that Attorney Williams has been in contact with the requestor. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Attorney Macelus with a response to the request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten ( 10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma. us. Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: Edwyn D. Macelus, Esq. Shawn Williams, Esq.
