Director of Public Records City of Boston - Public Records 1 City Hall Square, Room 615 Boston, MA 02201 Dear Attorney Williams: I have received the petition of Justin Powers appealing the response of the Boston Police Department (Department) to his request for public records. G. L. c. 66, 5 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Powers requested copies of the following records: I. All activityfroEMobile Date Terminals assigned on 41t9118 the following Youth Violence Strike Force officers: Bernazzani, Burrows, Butler, M. Butler, Conley, Connolly, Davis, Delahanty, Gunther, Hardy, Johnson, Lombardo, Lopes, Lopez, Noto, Paradis, Ramos, Rodrigues, Walsh, Wosny; Sergeants Hynes and Mason. 2. All FIO cards completed or partially filled out on 411 911 8 by the individuals listed in item one, above. 3. All location information of cruisers assigned on 4/19/18 to the individuals listed in item one, above. Under the Public Records Law and the Access Regulations (Regulations) all requests for public records must be met with a response within 10 business days of receipt of the request. G. L. c. 66, 5 10(a)-(b). The response may contain, among other things, an offer to provide records, a fee estimate for provision of the records, or a denial. G. L. c. 66, 5 10(b). All records custodians must comply with both the Public Records Law and the Regulations with respect to the timeliness of response. The Department initially aclmowledged receipt of the request but Mr. Powers noted in his appeal that he had not received a further response. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that a representative from the Department is working to determine whether any responsive records exist and intends on providing Mr. Powers with a written response.
