Director of Public Records City of Boston 1 City Hall Plaza, Room 615 Boston, MA 02201 Dear Attorney Williams: I have received the petition of Michael Dreslinski appealing the response of the City of Boston (City) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 1O A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1 ). Specifically, on July 31, 2018, Mr. Dreslinski requested three categories ofrecords: "(1) All vendor invoices for oe:w vehicle purchases, Bas1@ EMS, OJ-OJ -20J 6 to OJ-OJ-20J 8; (2) A 11 requests for/objections against changing name ofFaneuil Hall, 01-01-2018 to present ;(3) All formal letters to Starbucks from Mayor recommending location of new operation somewhere other than the proposed Boston North End location." The City responded to Mr. Dreslinski on August 17 , 2018, indicating "the City has no records responsive to Request 1" and "will require additional time to determine whether any responsive public records exist." Mr. Dreslinski is appealing the "RAO failure to provide an additional response to petitioner's public record request." Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that a representative from the City intends on providing Mr. Dreslinski with an additional response. Accordingly, the City is ordered to provide a response to Mr. Dreslinski made in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Access Regulations and this order within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Dreslinski may appeal the substantive nature of the City's response within ninety days.
