Boston Treasury Department 1 City Hall Square, Room M-35 Boston, MA 02201-2004 Dear Attorney Houston: I have received the petition of Thomas Ramos appealing the nonresponse of the Boston Treasury Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, on January 3, 2019, Mr. Ramos requested "a copy of guidelines listing the categories of public records maintained by the [Tax Collector] municipality." Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Ramos petitioned this office. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of the Public Records Division staff, this office was notified that the record(s) requested do not exist and that the Department intends on providing a response to Mr. Ramos. Said response must be made in accordance with the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Ramos may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety days.
