The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records March 5, 2019 SPR19/0410-0413 Shawn Williams, Esq. Public Records Access Officer Boston City Hall- Room 615 1 City Hall Sq. Boston, MA 02201 Dear Attorney Williams: I have received the petition of Allison Jarmanning appealing the nonresponse of the Boston Police Department (Department) to her requests for public records. G. L. c. 66, § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Ms. Jarmanning requested four categories ofrecords relating to personnel records of a named individual, "body-worn camera usage", "database or method of tracking public records requests made to Boston Police", and the "Boston Police Department roster/database." Claiming to not yet have received a response, Ms. Jarmanning petitioned this office and these appeals were opened as a result. Attorney Williams responded to Ms. Jarmanning's appeals on February 19, 2019 indicating "I will work with the Boston Police Department to determine the status of each request and assist in providing a response to each request." A staff member of the Public Records Division contacted Attorney Williams on March 5, 2019, and learned that he was working with the Department to provide Ms. Jarmanning with a response. Said response must be made in accordance with the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Jarmanning may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety days.
