G. L. c. 66, § 1O A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Bender requested "disclosure of your police department's <March 5, 2019> daily log." Having received no response, Mr. Bender petitioned this office. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the proper agent for handling public record requests never saw the inquiry. Nonetheless, the Department indicated they were working with their Town Administrator to provide Mr. Bender with a response. Said response must be made in accordance with the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Bender may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety days.
