G. L. c. 66, § 1O A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Aldrich requested various categories ofrecords concerning numbers of prisoners, "good conduct credits," and internal policies. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Aldrich petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that a representative from the Department is working to compile the requested records and intends on providing Mr. Aldrich with a written response. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Mr. Aldrich with a response without delay. Said response shall be made in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Access Regulations and this order within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Aldrich may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety days.
