Murray Supervisor of Records June 19, 2019 SPR19/1118 Ms. Martha J DeMaio Boston Police Department One Schroeder Plaza Boston, MA 02120 Dear Ms. DeMaio: I have received the petition of Mr. Coleman Herman appealing the nonresponse of the Boston Police Department (Depaiirnent) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 1O A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Herman requested "any and all complaints filed with the hackney unit of the Boston Police Depaiirnent for the period March 1, 2018 to Febrnary 28, 2019." The Department has provided a p01iion of the requested records already. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Department intends to provide Mr. Herman with the remaining responsive records after meeting with the members of the Hackney Until staff in the corning week. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Mr. Herman with a response to the request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.rna.us. Mr. Herman may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
