The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records July 8, 2019 SPR19/1267 Brendan Kennedy Middlesex County Sherriff s Office 400 Mystic A venue Medford, MA 0215 5 Dear Mr. Kennedy: I have received the petition of Matthew Rocheleau of the Boston Globe appealing the nonresponse of the Middlesex County Sherriffs Office (Office) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 1O A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1 ). Specifically, Mr. Rocheleau requested several categories of records within the possession of the Office. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Rocheleau petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that a representative from the Office intends on providing a written response to Mr. Rocheleau, as well as any responsive records within the Office's possession. Accordingly, the Office is ordered to provide Mr. Rocheleau with a response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Access Regulations and this order within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Rocheleau may appeal the substantive nature of the Office's response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, ~ Rebecca S.
