The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor ofR ecords July 16, 2019 SPR19/1400 Arielle Mullaney, Esq. Assistant General Counsel Executive Office of Public Safety and Security One Ashburton Place, Room 2133 Boston, MA 02108 Dear Attorney Mullaney: I have received the petition of Sofia Brown appealing the nomesponse of the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (EOPSS) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § IOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Ms. Brown requested records concerning written communications and reports, as well as existing transcripts of oral communications between EOPSS and the Massachusetts State Police regarding sexual harassment complaints. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Ms. Brown petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that a representative from EOPSS intends on providing a written response to Ms. Brown. Accordingly, EOPSS is ordered to provide Ms. Brown with a response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Access Regulations and this order within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Brown may appeal the substantive nature ofEOPSS' response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
