The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records August 5, 2019 SPR19/1478 Amanda Williams Town of Brookline - Police Department 350 Washington Street Brookline, MA 02445 Dear Ms. Williams: I have received the petition of Robert Aldrich appealing the nonresponse of the Brookline Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 1O A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Aldrich requested records regarding the authorization of "special police powers" in 1990. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Department provided Mr. Aldrich a response to his request on July 30, 2019. Accordingly, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Aldrich may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Rebecca S.
