The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray S11pe111isor of Records August 12, 2019 SPR19/1630 Patricia E. Dzuris Town Clerk Town of Chelmsford 50 Billerica Road Chelmsford, MA O1 824 Dear Ms. Dzuris: I have received the petition of Kevin J. Murphy, Esq. appealing the nonresponse of the Chelmsford Town Clerk's Office (Town) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 1O A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Attorney Murphy requested financial records within the Town's possession. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Attorney Murphy petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that a representative from the Town intends on providing a written response to Attorney Murphy, as well as any responsive records within the Town's possession. Accordingly, the Town is ordered to provide Attorney Murphy with a response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Access Regulations and this order within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Attorney Murphy may appeal the substantive nature of the Town's response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, ~UIT~ Supervisor of Records cc: Kevin J. Murphy, Esq.
