Murray Supervisor of Records September 20, 2019 SPR19/1855 Lieutenant Terence McDonnell Records Access Officer City of Quincy Police Department 1 Sea Street Quincy, MA 02169 Dear Lieutenant McDonnell: I have received the petition of Jim Haddadin, Investigative Producer at NBCJO Boston, appealing the response of the City of Quincy - Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Haddadin requested: "all·police records that pertain to a crash at approximately 7:21 a.m. on Aug. 7, 2019, in which a police vehicle struck a pedestrian in the area of Independence A venue near Goddard Street." In an initial response,on September 9, 2019, the Department denied Mr. Haddadin's request, in its entirety, pursuant to Exemption (f) of the Public Records Law due to a current investigation. As a result, Mr. Haddadin petitioned the Supervisor of Records (Supervisor) and this appeal was opened. After this appeal was opened, on September 16, 2019, the Department provided Mr. Haddadin with records responsive to his request. In a September 17, 2019 email, Mr. Haddadin requested that this office close his appeal because the records were received, and he no longer wishes to challenge the Department's earlier denial.
