The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray S11pervisor ofR ecords September 18, 2019 SPR19/1879 Shawn A. Williams, Esq. Director of Public Records City of Boston One City Hall Plaza Boston, MA 02201 Dear Attorney Williams: I have received the petition of Taylor R. Campbell appealing the nonresponse of the City of Boston Police Department to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1 ). Specifically, the requestor sought "any plans, requests for proposals, bids, contracts, vendor receipts, work orders, reports, emails, other discussions ... for the police operation dubbed 'Operation Clean Sweep' that began in August near the Suffolk County House of Corrections" Claiming to not yet have received a response, the requestor petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR19/1879, was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that a representative from the Office intends on providing a written response to the requestor, as well as any responsive records within the Department's possession. Accordingly, the Office is ordered to provide Taylor R. Campbell with a response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Access Regulations and this order within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. The requestor may appeal the substantive nature of the Office's response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, ~.~ Supervisor of Records cc: Taylor R.
