The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records October 22, 2019 SPR19/2067 Maria Romero, Esq. Suffolk County Sheriff's Department 200 Nashua Street Boston, MA 02114 Dear Attorney Romero: I have received the petition of Caroline Milosevich appealing the nonresponse of the Suffolk County Sheriff's Depaiiment (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Ms. Milosevich requested "documents that show the number of immigrant detainees currently being held by the Suffolk County Sheriffs Department on behalf of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), any documents showing the Average Daily Population for the period from August 1, 2018 to the present, and ·any documents showing the amount of compensation the jail receives per detainee per night and total revenue from August 1, 2018 to the present. I also request any documents, like invoices, that indicate the amount of payment due to the Suffolk County Sheriffs Department from ICE or the Department of Homeland Security (OHS) from August 1, 2018 to the present." Subsequent to the intervention by a member of the Public Records Division staff, this office was provided with a response from the Department on October 15, 2019 which was provided to Ms. Milosevich. Based upon the Department's October 15, 2019 response to Ms. Milosevich's request, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Milosevich may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, ~~ Rebecca S.
