The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division

Rebecca S, Murray Supervisor of Records

November 22, 2019 SPR19/2356 Kristen W. Jiang, Esq. Appeals Division Essex County District Attorney’s Office 10 Federal Street

Salem, MA 01970 | Dear Attorney Jiang:

I have received the petition of Maya Shaffer appealing the nonresponse of the Essex County District Attorney’s Office (Office) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.MLR. 32.08(1). Specifically, Ms. Shaffer requested records regarding either interference or obstruction of a police officer. Having received no response, Ms. Shaffer petitioned this office.

Subsequent to the intervention by a member of the Public Records Division, this office was notified that a response was provided, dated November 22, 2019. Whereas this matter was opened based upon the Office’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Shaffer may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).

Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray

Supervisor of Records cc: Maya Shaffer
