The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records December 27, 2019 SPR19/2457 Valerie J. Connolly Records Access Officer Office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth One Ashburton Place, Room 1710 Boston, MA 02108 Dear Ms. Connolly: I have received the petition of Ms. Corey Spaulding appealing the nonresponse of the Office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth (Office) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § lOA; see 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Ms. Spaulding requested "the quantity of complainants who filed more than 100 public records requests from any one agency/custodian of records per year for the past 5 years." Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Ms. Spaulding petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Office responded to a previous request from Ms. Spaulding relating to the number of public records appeals received by the Office, including the identities of the individuals who filed the appeals. It is my understanding that the Office will be providing a fu1ther response to Ms. Spaulding indicating that it does not possess records containing the quantity of complainants who filed more than 100 public records requests to any one custodian of records for the past 5 years. Accordingly, the Office is to provide Ms. Spaulding with this response in compliance with the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within ten (10) business days. Sincerely, ~~ Rebecca S.
