The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records January 2, 2020 SPR19/2488 Andrea L. Stone City of Springfield Office of the City Clerk 130 Pearl Street Springfield, MA O1 105 Dear Ms. Stone: I have received the petition of Greta J ochem appealing the response of the City of Springfield Office of the City Clerk (City) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § lOA; also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1 ). Specifically, on October 17, 2019, Ms. Jochem requested the following records from the City: • All letters of recommendation for Susan J. Biggs. • Any correspondence between Springfield Public Schools and the Loomis Chaffee School between 1995 and 1998. Unsatisfied with the response provided by the City on November 22, 2019, Ms. Jochem petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Conclusion Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the City responded to Ms. Jochem's request with a subsequent response sent on December 24, 2019. Whereas the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the City's lack of substantive response to Ms. Jochem's request, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Jochem may appeal the substantive nature of the City's response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). ~~~ 0 Rebecca S. Mu_rray .
