The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor ofR ecords February 5, 2020 SPR20/0128 Annie Thompson Northampton Public Schools 212 Main Street Northampton, MA O1 060 Dear Ms. Thompson: I have received the petition of Greta Jochem of the Daily Hampshire Gazette appealing the response of the Northampton Public Schools (School) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § lOA; see 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically on November 6, 2019, Ms. Jochem requested certain emails sent to or by School administrators, including the superintendent, on particular dates in 2018. Previous appeals This request was the subject of a previous appeals. See SPR19/2385 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (December 11, 2019); See SPRl 9/2512 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (JanuaryJ, 2020). Unsatisfied with the School's responses, Ms. Jochem petitioned this office and as a result, SPR20/0128 was opened. Based on a conversation between a Public Records Division staff attorney and a School representative, it is my understanding that the School intends on providing a subsequent response to Ms. J ochem to address her concerns. Accordingly, the School is ordered to provide Ms. Jochem with a response to her request in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within 10 business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Jochem may appeal the substantive nature of the School's response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, ~ Rebecca S.
