The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray S11pe111isor ofR ecords March 6, 2020 SPR20/0415 Charles Gibson, Deputy Chief of Police Nantucket Police Department 4 Fairgrounds Road Nantucket, MA 02554-2804 Dear Deputy Chief Gibson: I have received the petition of Jamie Truman appealing the nonresponse of the Town of Nantucket Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § lOA; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Ms. Truman requested the blocked list of social media accounts maintained by the Department. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Ms. Truman petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Department responded to Ms. Truman's request with a response sent on March 6, 2020. Whereas the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Department's lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Truman may appeal the substantive nature of the Department's response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, ~:.:v~ Supervisor of Records cc: Jamie Truman One Ashbmion Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre• pre@sec.state.ma.us
