The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records April 13, 2020 SPR20/0605 Dr. Jeffrey Marsden Superintendent of Schools Medfield Public Schools 459 Main Street Medfield, MA 02052 Dear Dr. Marsden: I have received the petition of Matthew Rocheleau appealing the nonresponse of the Medfield Public Schools (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, on February 14, 2020, Mr. Rocheleau requested records regarding “any/all settlement agreements regarding the provision of special education service(s) and/or educational placement(s) for students with disabilities entered into by your school district with parent(s)/guardian(s) from January 1, 2010 to present” within the possession of the Department. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Rocheleau petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR20/0605, was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Department has yet to respond to Mr. Rocheleau’s request. Accordingly, the Department is to provide Mr. Rocheleau with a response to this request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law, and its Regulations as soon as practicable. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us.
