G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, on March 27, 2020, Attorney Kastner requested the following records within the possession of the Office: • Any and all policies, protocols, plans, or procedures developed in response to communicable diseases, including the coronavirus; • Any policies and procedures related to how inmates may request medical care, including the use of “sick slips”; • Any and all janitorial or cleaning logs, documenting cleanings at the Ash St. Jail, Dartmouth House of Correction, and transport vans from March 1, 2020 to present; • Any and all records related to suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 among inmates, corrections officers or staff employed by or in the custody of the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office, with redactions to protect names or other personally identifiable information; • Any briefings received by the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office from the White House related to the coronavirus or COVID-19; • Any educational materials provided to corrections officers, staff or inmates of the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office related to the coronavirus or COVID-19; • A list of personal hygiene items and cleaning supplies provided to inmates at no charge; • A list of personal hygiene items and cleaning supplies available to inmates through the canteen and their respective costs; • Any additional records in the custody of the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office related to the coronavirus or COVID-19. SPR20/0723 Page 2 May 15, 2020 Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Attorney Kastner petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR20/0723, was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Office is in the process of fulfilling Attorney Kastner’s request. Accordingly, the Office is to provide Attorney Kastner with said response in compliance with the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations as soon as practicable. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us.
