The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records May 18, 2020 SPR20/0728 Chief Kyle Heagney Attleboro Police Department 120 North Main Street, Suite 306 Attleboro, MA 02703 Dear Chief Heagney: I have received the petition of Attorney James Caramanica appealing the response of the Attleboro Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Attorney Caramanica requested 15 categories of documents related to policies and procedures of the Department, as well as records regarding an event with a named individual. The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office (DAO) responded on behalf of the Department on May 1, 2020. Unsatisfied with the response, Attorney Caramanica petitioned this office, and SPR20/0728 was opened as a result. Subsequent to the opening of the appeal, the DAO provided a supplemental response on May 11, 2020, which included a copy of the Department’s response on May 6, 2020. Whereas the DAO and Department have sent Attorney Caramanica a supplemental response addressing his appeal, I will consider this appeal closed. Attorney Caramanica may appeal the substantive nature of the May 11th response within 90 days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: James Caramanica, Esq.
