The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records May 19, 2020 SPR20/0754 Lorraine A.G. Tarrow, Esq. Office of the Attorney General One Ashburton Place 20th Floor Boston, MA 02108 Dear Attorney Tarrow: I have received the petition of Collin Dias appealing the nonresponse of the Office of the Attorney General, Public Charities Division (Office) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, on April 22, 2020, Mr. Dias requested “[a]ll Veterans Association of Bristol County Records of Registration statements, applications, reports, contracts or agreements of professional fund-raising counsel, commercial co-venturers and professional solicitors. I ask for all records from the years of 2017 and 2018.” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Dias petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR20/0754, was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Office provided a response with respect to Mr. Dias’ request on May 11, 2020. Whereas the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the lack of response by the Office, I will consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Dias may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: Mr. Collin Dias One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
