Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department 200 Nashua Street Boston, MA 02114 Dear Attorney Forbes: I have received the petition of Attorney Andrew Levrault appealing the nonresponse of the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department (Department) to his request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Levrault requested records pertaining to policies on the transportation of inmates. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Levrault petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal and communication from a staff member of the Public Records Division, it remains unclear whether the Department has provided a response. As such, the Department is ordered to provide Mr. Levrault with a written response. Said response shall be made in accordance with the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations as soon as practicable. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Levrault may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days.
