The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records June 4, 2020 SPR20/0825 Chief Kyle Heagney Attleboro Police Department 120 North Main Street, Suite 306 Attleboro, MA 02703 Dear Chief Heagney: I have received the petition of Attorney James Caramanica appealing the response of the Attleboro Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Attorney Caramanica requested 15 categories of documents related to policies and procedures of the Department, as well as records regarding an event with a named individual. Previous Determination This request was the subject of a previous determination. See SPR20/0712 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (May 14, 2020). In my May 18th determination, I found the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office (DAO) provided a supplemental response on behalf of the Department, dated May 11, 2020. Unsatisfied with the DAO’s response, Attorney Caramanica petitioned this office, and SPR20/0825 was opened as a result. Conclusion Subsequent to the opening of the appeal, the DAO provided a supplemental response on May 26, 2020. Whereas the DAO has sent Attorney Caramanica a supplemental response on behalf of the Department, I will consider this appeal closed. Attorney Caramanica may appeal the substantive nature of the May 26th response within 90 days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
