Records Access Officer Massachusetts Department of Transportation 10 Park Plaza, Suite 3510 Boston, MA 02116 Dear Attorney Doyle: I have received the petition of Mr. John Lajoie appealing the nonresponse of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Lajoie requested the following records pertaining to a certain vehicle: 1. “Any records relative to the inspection of the vehicle involved by [named individual] 2. Any VIDEO that was captured of the actual inspection of the vehicle involved (I understand that a video of the inspection was shown at the hearing) 3. Any documents that were submitted to the hearing officer 4. Any reports that were generated as a result of the inspection and hearing (not the report that I have attached). 5. Any photos or video that was received, generated, or taken as a result of the DOT investigation” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Lajoie petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR20/0826, was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that MassDOT provided a response with respect to Mr. Lajoie’s request on May 22, 2020.
