The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records June 3, 2020 SPR20/0827 Lt. Eric P. Nichols Taunton Police Department 23 Summer Street Taunton, MA 02780 Dear Attorney Jacks: I have received the petition of John M. Lajoie appealing the nonresponse of the Taunton Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Mr. Lajoie requested multiple documents in the Department’s possession. Claiming to not yet have received a response, he petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Department responded to Mr. Lajoie’s request in writing. Whereas the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. The requestor may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: John M.
