The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records July 9, 2020 SPR20/1017 Sheryl Femino Administrative Assistant Athol-Royalston Regional School District 1062 Pleasant Street Athol, MA 01331 Dear Ms. Femino: I have received the petition of Attorney Michael J. Long of Dupere Law Offices appealing the response of the Athol-Royalston Regional School District (District) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, on June 15, 2020, Attorney Long requested, in part, a copy of the “investigation report and all investigatory materials regarding the Athol-Royalston Middle School incident at a girls basketball game between the ARMS Basketball Team and SABIS International Charter School.” Unsatisfied with the response, Attorney Long petitioned this office and SPR20/1017 was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff attorney of the Public Records Division, I learned that the District responded to Attorney Long’s request with a subsequent response sent on July 8, 2020. Whereas the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the District’s June 15th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Attorney Long may appeal the substantive nature of the District’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: Michael J. Long, Esq.
