The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records July 13, 2020 SPR20/1031 Joanne Senos City of Gloucester Office of the City Clerk 9 Dale Avenue Gloucester, MA 01930 Dear Ms. Senos: I have received the petition of Patti Amaral appealing the nonresponse of the City of Gloucester Office of the City Clerk (City) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, on four (4) separate occasions, June 8, 2020; June 18, 2020; June 22, 2020 and June 23, 2020, Ms. Amaral filed five (5) individual public records requests seeking altogether eighteen (18) categories of records within the possession of the City. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Ms. Amaral petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR20/1031, was opened as a result. It is my understanding that a representative of the City contacted a staff member of the Public Records Division on July 13, 2020 and indicated the City intends on providing a response with respect to Ms. Amaral’s requests. Accordingly, I will consider this administrative appeal closed. The City is ordered to provide Ms. Amaral with said response as soon as is practicable. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Amaral may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: Ms. Patti Amaral One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
