The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records July 22, 2020 SPR20/1120 Lorraine A.G. Tarrow Assistant Attorney General Office of Attorney General Maura Healey One Ashburton Place, 20th Floor Boston, MA 02108 Dear Attorney Tarrow: I have received the petition of Corey Spaulding appealing the nonresponse of the Office of the Attorney General Public Charities Division (Office) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, on May 21, 2020, Ms. Spaulding requested “the quantity of board officers of nonprofit fiscal sponsors of schools in Massachusetts who filed complaints with the AGO in the past 10 years,” as well as, “any board officer for SPAM (State Police Association of Massachusetts) who filed a complaint of suspicious activities within their nonprofit.” Claiming to not yet have received a response, Ms. Spaulding petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that a representative from the Office intends on providing a written response to Ms. Spaulding. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of each response to this to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Spaulding may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
