The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records August 7, 2020 SPR20/1267 William J. Maloney City Clerk City of Lawrence 200 Common Street Lawrence, MA 01840 Dear Mr. Maloney: I have received the petition of Attorney Valerie A. Fallica of The Law Office of Valerie A. Fallica appealing the response of the City of Lawrence (City) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, on July 2, 2020, Attorney Fallica requested the following records, “audio/video recording of the interview at the Lawrence Police Station with [a named individual] on February 20, 2019 regarding incident report #19001160.” Unsatisfied with the response, Attorney Fallica appealed and SPR20/1267 was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff attorney of the Public Records Division, I learned that the City responded to Attorney Fallica’s request with a subsequent response sent on August 6, 2020. Whereas the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the City’s July 15th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Attorney Fallica may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc Valerie A. Fallica, Esq.
