The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records August 17, 2020 SPR20/1333 Matthew Deacon, Esq. General Counsel Department of Veterans’ Services 600 Washington Street, 7th Floor Boston, MA 02111 Dear Attorney Deacon: I have received the petition of Colman Herman appealing the nonresponse of the Department of Veterans’ Services (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Herman requested several categories of records within the possession of the Department. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Herman petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the request for an appeal, I learned that the Department responded to Mr. Herman’s request with a response sent on August 14, 2020. Whereas the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Herman may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
