The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records September 2, 2020 SPR20/1547 Keith Garland, Esq. Assistant District Attorney Records Access Officer Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office 166 Main Street Brockton, MA 02301 Dear Attorney Garland: I have received the petition of Mr. Donald Williams appealing the nonresponse of the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office (Office) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, in a letter dated July 3, 2020, Mr. Williams requested “[a]ll files and/or records maintained by this addressed office and/or the equivalent agencies that are indexed, maintained under, mention, refer to, or otherwise contains the name or identifying information of [a certain individual].” Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Williams petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Office had initially provided Mr. Williams with a response to his request on July 8, 2020 via mail. The Office confirmed on August 2, 2020 that it is resending the provided response to Mr. Williams. Whereas the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Office’s lack of response to Mr. William’s request, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Williams may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
