The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records September 16, 2020 SPR20/1588 Claudia Buruca Records Access Officer Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office One Bulfinch Place Boston, MA 02144 Dear Ms. Buruca: I have received the petition of Maggie Mulvihill appealing the response of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office (Office) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, on July 16, 2020, Ms. Mulvihill requested the following, “… [a]ll records relating to referrals to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office from the Boston Police Department for criminal prosecution or potential criminal prosecution for BPD personnel … from Jan. 1, 2018 to present.” The Office responded on July 30, 2020. Unsatisfied with the response, Ms. Mulvihill appealed and SPR20/1588 was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff attorney of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Office responded to Ms. Mulvihill’s request with a further response sent on September 16, 2020. Whereas the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Office’s July 30th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Mulvihill may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
