Assistant District Attorney Bristol County District Attorney’s Office 888 Purchase Street New Bedford, MA 02740 Dear Attorney Lee: I have received the petition of Andrew Quemere appealing the September 18, 2020 response of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office (Office) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Quemere requested: 1. Brady lists which refers to lists of police officers who have credibility problems and other concerns that must be disclosed to the defense if the officer is involved in a criminal prosecution; 2. All letters, emails, and other communications notifying police departments and/or individual police officers that an officer has been added to a Brady list for the years 2015 to the present; and, 3. All policies, procedures, and training records related to Brady lists. Prior appeal The responsive records were the subject of a prior appeal. On August 31, 2020, the Office provided three records that are responsive to Mr. Quemere’s request. Mr. Quemere petitioned the Supervisor regarding the three documents he received in redacted form. As a result, I ordered the Office to provide a supplemental response, and to provide this office with un-redacted copies of those documents for an in camera inspection. See SPR20/1511 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (Supervisor) (September 11, 2020). On September 18, 2020, the Office provided Mr. Quemere with a response to the Supervisor’s September 11th determination. At the same time, the Office indicated that the un- redacted copies of the three documents would be provided to this office for in camera inspection. A Senior Attorney in the Public Records Division is now in possession of the documents so that this office can conduct an in camera inspection of the responsive records.
