Murray Supervisor of Records October 7, 2020 SPR20/1805 Chief Robert MacDonald Town of Dighton Police Department 1458 Somerset Avenue Dighton, MA 02715 Dear Chief MacDonald: I have received the petition of Aleah Mofford appealing the nonresponse of the Town of Dighton Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, on September 8, 2020, Ms. Mofford requested the following records within the possession of the Department: • Any and all contracts and communications surrounding entering into a contract with Brandon COPsync LLC; • Any and all documents pertaining to the contract transfer from Brandon COPsync LLC to In Force Technology LLC; and • Any and all contract and communications with In Force Technology LLC. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Ms. Mofford petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR20/1805, was opened as a result. A representative of the Office of the Town Clerk informed a staff member of the Public Records Division the Department intends on providing a response with respect to Ms. Mofford’s September 8, 2020 request. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Ms. Mofford with said response, provided in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Mofford may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days.
