Smith Newton Police Department Information Technology Bureau 1321 Washington Street Newton, MA 02465 Dear Mr. Smith: I have received the petition of Corey Spaulding appealing the nonresponse of the Newton Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Ms. Spaulding requested records relating to residency investigations of students. Having received no response, Ms. Spaulding petitioned our office. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, this office was notified that the Department provided a response on September 30, 2020. In light of this response, I will consider this administrative appeal closed. If issues remain unresolved, Ms. Spaulding may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within 90 days.
