Box 306 Dedham, MA 02026 Dear Mr. Munchbach: I have received the petition of Suresh Bhatia appealing the nonresponse of the Town of Dedham (Town) to requests for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, on September 13, 2020, Mr. Bhatia filed fourteen (14) public records requests seeking “copies of all communications (written, verbal, emails, memos, notes, text messages etc.) from any Town employee, Town representatives, members of Select Board, and members of BPCC to the Vertex Companies/Compass Project Management Group” during the months of June, July and August 2020. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Bhatia petitioned this office and these appeals were opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of these appeals, the Town has yet to provide a response with respect to Mr. Bhatia’s requests. Accordingly, the Town is ordered to provide Mr. Bhatia with a response(s) to his requests in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law, and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response(s) to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Bhatia may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s response(s) within ninety (90) days.
