McDonnell: I have received the petition of Joseph DiFazio of The Patriot Ledger appealing the nonresponse of the City of Quincy Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, on September 30, 2020, Mr. DiFazio requested access to, and copies of, all records and investigative materials associated with the Department’s investigation into an identified August 25, 2020 incident. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. DiFazio petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR20/2033, was opened as a result. It is my understanding the Department provided six (6) responses dated October 15, 2020 in relation to Mr. DiFazio’s September 30, 2020 request. Accordingly, I will consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. DiFazio may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
