Murray Supervisor of Records November 18, 2020 SPR20/2135 Jayne Marie Davolio Town Clerk Town of Millbury 127 Elm Street Millbury, MA 01527 Dear Ms. Davolio: I have received the petition of Jeff Raymond, of the Millbury-Sutton Chronicle, appealing the response of the Town of Millbury to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Mr. Raymond requested documentation concerning the Town Manager Screening Committee of 2019-2020. On September 30, 2020, the Town responded, providing 12 attached documents. Mr. Raymond petitioned the Supervisor of Records (Supervisor) due to not receiving all the responsive records. It is unclear whether the Town has made any additional responsive records available. The Town must clarify this matter. This office encourages the parties to communicate to facilitate providing Mr. Raymond with the records he seeks. See G. L. c. 66, § 10(b)(vii) (an agency or municipality shall suggest a reasonable modification of the scope of the request or offer to assist the requestor to modify the scope of the request if doing so would enable the agency or municipality to produce records sought more efficiently and affordably). Conclusion Accordingly, the Town is ordered to provide Mr. Raymond with a response to the request, in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within 10 business days.
