The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records November 23, 2020 SPR20/2189 Sgt. Kenneth Lofstrom City of Brockton Police Department 7 Commercial Street Brockton, MA 02302 Dear Sgt. Kenneth Lofstrom: I have received the petition of Mr. Jordan Rice appealing the nonresponse of the City of Brockton Police Department (Department) to his request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Mr. Rice submitted a request for records related to himself while in the custody of Department within the possession of the Department. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Rice petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a member of the Public Records Division, this office was notified that a response was provided, dated November 13, 2020. Whereas this matter was opened based upon the Department’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Rice may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
