The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records December 2, 2020 SPR20/2275 Mark Saloio Chief Tisbury Police Department 32 Water Street Vineyard Haven, MA 02568 Dear Chief Saloio: I have received the petition of Rich Saltzberg of Martha’s Vineyard Times appealing the response of the Tisbury Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § l0A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically on June 15, 2020, Mr. Saltzberg requested, “1. Any and all internal investigation reports, internal investigation notes, or other internal investigation documentation focused on [identified] … officer in the Department. 2. … any police reports that include [identified officer] as an alleged offender. 3. Any and all internal investigation reports, internal investigation notes, or other internal investigation documentation focused on [identified] … officer in the Department. 4. … any police reports that include [identified] officer] as an alleged offender. 5. Any and all internal investigation reports, internal investigation notes, or other internal investigation documentation focused on [identified] … officer in the Department. 6. … any police reports that include [identified] … officer as an alleged offender.” Previous appeals This request was the subject of previous appeals. See SPR20/1122 and SPR20/1123 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (July 21, 2020); SPR20/1124 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (July 22, 2020). The Department responded on August 20, 2020. Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, Mr. Salzberg petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR20/2275, was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff attorney of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Department responded to Mr. Saltzberg’s request with a subsequent response sent on November 30, 2020. Whereas the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s August 20th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed.
