Williams, Esq. Director of Public Records Records Access Officer City of Boston 1 City Hall Plaza, Room 615 Boston, MA 02201 Dear Attorney Williams: I have received the petition of Justin D. Powers appealing the nonresponse of the City of Boston (City) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, on November 3, 2020, Mr. Powers requested documents pertaining to the “court time submitted by a named individual from June 1, 2016 through November 3, 2020.” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Powers petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR20/2290, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal by a staff member of the Public Records Division, the City has yet to provide a response with respect to Mr. Powers’s November 3, 2020 request. Accordingly, the City is ordered to provide Mr. Powers with said response within ten (10) business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Powers may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s response within ninety (90) days.
