The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records November 30, 2020 SPR20/2335 Kathleen M. Spofford, CMMC Town Clerk Town of Townsend 272 Main Street Townsend, MA 01469 Dear Ms. Spofford: I have received the petition of Ms. Joan Savoy appealing the nonresponse of the Town of Townsend (Town) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, on November 5, 2020, Ms. Savoy requested “a comprehensive list, with dates, of all the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissioners courses paid for by the Town and completed by Dave Henkels, Conservation Commissioner.” Claiming to not yet have received a response, Ms. Savoy petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequent to the intervention by a staff member of the Public Records Division, I learned that the Town provided Ms. Savoy with a response to her request dated November 30, 2020. Whereas the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Town’s lack of response to Ms. Savoy’s request, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Savoy may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: Ms. Joan Savoy One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
