The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records December 21, 2020 SPR20/2433 Claudia Buruca Records Access Officer Appeals Unit/Public Records Unit Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office One Bulfinch Place Boston, MA 02114 Dear Ms. Buruca: I have received the petition of Kevin Norris appealing the nonresponse of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office (Office) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, on November 19, 2020, Mr. Norris requested a “detailed list showing all the criminal defendants that the sentence integrity unit has agreed to a revision of the defendant’s sentence, the list should include the defendants name, docket number, his or her race, the final disposition, and the race of the victim in the underlying criminal matter.” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Norris petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR20/2433, was opened as a result. It is my understanding the Office is in the process of responding to this request. Accordingly, the Office is ordered to provide Mr. Norris with said response consistent with the Public Records Laws and its Access Regulations within ten (10) business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Norris may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
