G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Ms. Stevenson filed a public records request for records pertaining to the Town of Easthampton’s police-student interaction in the past five years, the Department’s budgeting and spending, and all complaints towards the Department during the past five years. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Ms. Stevenson petitioned this office and this appeal was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that a representative from the Department intends on providing a written response to Ms. Stevenson. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Ms. Stevenson with a response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Access Regulations and this order within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Stevenson may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s response within ninety days.
