Murray Supervisor of Records January 28, 2021 SPR21/0087 Lieutenant Scott Janes Town of Hamilton Police Department 265 Bay Road Hamilton, MA 01982 Dear Lieutenant Janes: I have received the petition of Lori Crane appealing the response of the Town of Hamilton Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Specifically, Ms. Crane requested a copy of a police report. The Department provided Ms. Crane with a response to explain that the Department was withholding the report due to the identifying information of the other party. Said response must be provided in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its Regulations within 10 business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Crane may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days.
