Murray Supervisor of Records February 10, 2021 SPR21/0194 Jennifer DiCarlo Principal Records Clerk Northampton Police Department 29 Center Street Northampton, MA 01060 Dear Ms. DiCarlo: I have received the petition of Benjamin Maddison appealing the response of the Northampton Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Mr. Maddison requested certain records “. . . in reference to [a] citation issued on 1/11/21.” The Department provided a response to the records request and Mr. Maddison appealed the Department’s response to this office. This appeal was opened as a result. Based upon a conversation between this office and a Department representative, it is my understanding that the Department intends on providing a subsequent response to Mr. Maddison. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Mr. Maddison with a response to his request, in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within 10 business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Maddidon may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days.
